Our story

I began my journey into slow fashion while living in Australia. With just a borrowed sewing machine and a heap of YouTube tutorials, I dove into the world of making clothes, driven by a passion for creating. After losing my job during a Covid lockdown, I started sewing every day. Those long hours at the machine deepened my interest in sewing and patternmaking. After moving back to The Netherlands, I pursued formal education in sewing and patternmaking at a fashion school in Alkmaar. It was there that the idea for my brand, Sabine the Label, took shape. Sabine the Label is all about creating fashion that's kind to the planet and feels good in every way. I'm passionate about using natural materials, particularly linen. Each piece is crafted with care and attention to detail. I believe in being open about how my clothes are made, from the first sketch to the final price. I want to inspire others to get creative and learn to make their own clothes too.

Sabine the Label is a one-woman business, where I handle everything from design and pattern making to sewing each item by hand. Your support means everything to me, and I'm incredibly grateful for each and every order!
